Credit where credit is due: OLLis8h aka N73User who have made these instructions and created the necessary archives.I supply here a rewritten and English version of these instructions which were in German, and can be read in their original state at this link:Those who have the fat PS2 may also use the PS1 Exploit by pepsimax2k, found at: guide is intended for those who have wound up with a Action Replay Max Evo disc with no media player. You have my apologies for replying so late. Personally I did not encounter this problem. However, you got to the point where FreeMcBoot was starting up?From what I gathered you only had one ActionReplayMAXSettings file. Did you follow steps 2 through 5 exactly?

I think that these steps may be there to create the first settings file.If you don’t mind, I would suggest formatting the memory card and USB drive and try again. The memory card needs to be formatted before installation of FreeMcBoot anyway.Good luck!

Items you will need.PlayStation 2.PlayStation 2 compatible memory card.Blank USB drive.SwapMagic diskWhile many gamers have moved on from the PlayStation 2 (PS2) to its more powerful successor, a group of enthusiasts have been using the PlayStation 2's powerful hardware to run homebrew applications. One such application, Simple Media System (SMS), allows you to play Mp3's and videos from a USB drive or burned CDs, effectively turning your PS2 into a powerful media center.
The key to installing these programs is a retail product called SwapMagic, which allows you to boot PS2 applications from a USB drive. Note: Formatting the USB drive will erase any data on it.Copy the FREEMCBOOT.ELF file and the INSTALL directory from the Free McBoot Noobie Package archive into the root directory of your USB drive.Create another folder in the root directory called SWAPMAGIC. The folder name must be in all caps.Extract the BOOT.ELF from the uLaunchELF archive into the new SWAPMAGIC directory.Rename the BOOT.ELF file that you just extracted to SWAPMAGIC.ELF. The file name must be in all caps.Remove the USB drive from your computer and plug it into your PlayStation 2.Plug your memory card into slot one.Boot up your SwapMagic disk. The SwapMagic splash screen will appear. Then, uLaunchELF will start.Enter uLaunchELF's browser by pressing O.Navigate to 'mass:/' and run FREEMCBOOT.ELF This will bring up the Free McBoot installer.Select the 'Normal Install' option and select 'slot 1' from the following prompt.
This will install Free McBoot onto the memory card. You may now unplug the USB drive.Select 'Launch FMCB' once the installer has finished. You will see new options in the Sony main menu.
Select the 'SMS' option. This will start the Simple Media System (SMS).Plug the USB drive with music files into the front USB port.Select the USB icon in SMS and browse to the music file you wish to play.
Press x to play the file.
The PlayStation 2 is the best-selling video game console in history, but being an optical media-based machine, it often suffered physical faults rendering the drive inoperable and the machine useless. Fortunately, though, the PS2 has one of the strongest home-brew communities around, and some clever code monkeys figured out a way to play PS2 backup games without the need for an optical drive using OPL: Open PS2 Loader.
Unfortunately, there isn’t much documentation on how to get this plan up and running. Hopefully, I can rectify this.
The easiest way to get this system up and running is “soft modding” your PlayStation. This is a software modification that runs an alternative OS version stored on a memory card. Without said memory card in place, the PlayStation boots as it normally would, preserving the integrity of the hardware and firmware. There are a myriad of ways to install the alternative OS (called Free McBoot) that are detailed elsewhere on the Interwebs, and even some volunteers who will install it for free on a memory card you provide; but I will be purchasing a memory card with FMcB installed.

I bought the Windows 10 Home upgrade install that is on a USB device. The instructions say that once you put the USB into a port you are to power on the computer & configure it to boot from the USB drive. How does one do that? There are no instructionsincluded on How to configure to boot from the USB drive. I feel that the person who wrote these instructions expects everyone to be an expert on how to reconfigure boot commands for computers. I've done the Del at bootup to try do that but got confused onwhat to do.Moved from: Windows Insider Program / Windows Insider Preview / Install, upgrade, and activate / PC.
How about some info as to just what you are trying to do. It is very easy to jump to conclusions and even lead you entirely in the wrong direction -1 Why are you buying W10 Home? Is it because the PC is running W8, W7 or prior?2 Do you have a working PC?3 If you have a working PC, then the instructions for using the USB is simply. You just insert the damn USB and under 'This PC' you lick on the USB and select 'SetUp'. Perhaps that is why there are no detailed instructions for a very simple detail4 Now, if you have a dead PC, the use of the USB is entirely different. You have to get the PC to operate without an operating system until an operating system gets installed from an USB.
This is much more involved and I doubt the USB stick you now havenow will even work.If you have a valid W10 on a stick then you should have a valid W10 key to go with it. This should be the easy one if you have a working PC.
If you have dead PC, the whole thing changes. I would not follow any instructions you have received so far untilyou clearly define just what you are trying to do. Some to date solutions assume that you have a dead PC.Will look for your response.sofspra. Hi.It is not good to configure the PC to boot from the USB stick. Once you do that, your PC will always try to boot from the USB stick and Windows installation will not be finished unless you interrupt booting from the USB stick. You should insert the USB stick and then try to boot from the USB stick only once. Then on next restart, booting device will revert to HDD and installation of Windows will continue from HDD.Hope this helps.
